Timing chip question
it comes on a velcro custioun strap that will go around ur ankle...after u put it on..take a safety pin and pin it on to make sure it doesnt come off (personal experience).
threre are no stupid questions on this site
If you get a flat, and don't have a tube, Suck it up and run it in!!!
It does come with a velcro strap which is ok.
You can also get a strap made of neoprene. It is more comfy and holds up better.
Whether you use the provided strap or a neoprene model, add some tape over the velcro to ensure it does not come off. And before the swim place it under the skin of your wetsuit (if your using one) instead of letting it hang on your ankle. This will keep it from getting snagged and pulling off.

All good ideas (and reassuring!). Thanks much to all of you!

HFP Racing uses something besides a ChampionChip. They provide a Chip and ankle strap for everyone. The problem with the straps are that they are used. One poor fellow last week had his come off in the lake...
No chip, no time..... I wish they would change over to the ChampionChip, since I own one and would like to use it more than two or three times a year.

Ok, this may sound stupid...but with my first tri just 9 days away I'm starting to think about the details. It just occurred to me that since a triathlon starts with a swim, and I'll go through two pairs of shoes (biking and running) that I won't just be tying my Champion Chip onto my shoelaces at the beginning of the race as I've done in all my road races over the years.
So what happens? Where do I put it? Do they give it to me tied to a piece of string around my ankle?
