Have one. And I don't want to buy a wetsuit, due to the fact that I want to keep my expenses down. The swim is going to be in a lake in Newburyport, MA. Should I just rough it and go bare??

How cold is the water? How far is the swim? How good of a swimmer are you? For a Sprint in water 70 and up I dont wear a wet suit, for me it would be a waste of time really. For my IM next month I have resigned myself to having to wear one since its a much longer time in the water.

Depending on water temp and race distance... perhaps rent one? I know some places around where I live do that.

Rental is probably a good way to go but if you decide to buy, go to promotionwetsuits.com. The suits ROCK and are about 1/2 the price of the big-name companies. Did quite a bit of research into this one and found the technology in these suits to be as good or better as well...

I just did a sprint race in 60 degree water, and I rented a suit, and was really glad I did. I'm a strong swimmer, but I would have been suffering without one.
