I hope this question isn't as stupid as it sounds, but...... I have an NRS wet suit I use for white water kayaking. Does anyone know if this will be suitable (pardon the pun!) for a race? I'm doing my first tri in a few weeks and need to know if I should look into renting one for my race or if I can get away with this one. Thanx!
Have you tried swimming in it yet? How does it feel?
I'm sure most people would say go with a tri specific suit, but if what you have works, then maybe go with it for a while...
xcdave has the right idea.
Try swimming in it. Is it buoyant? Does it restrict your movement or inhibit your breathing?
I've been wearing an O'Neill diving wetsuit that I bought in the fall of 2003 at a garage sale for $10. I altered it from a full suit to a farmer john with a pair of scissors and heavy thread (the only way I could get it to fit). For sprints, its fine.
