hey everyone...i recently decided to start training for triathlons about a week and a half ago...and i need some tips on training..

i'm 6'1" about 165 been an athlete my whole life...i live in a hilly city and have trained indoors for the past week and a half...is that a good idea?

before two weeks ago i never swam more than 75m, now i can swim 750...so far i've gotten a 10mile bikeride in at about 25min...is that competitive? i'd really like to know competitive times for smaller tri's...i'm just planning on doing this for fun while i attend FSU...any information will be helpful...

what about gear? is it possible to buy a good bike for under 500 bucks? like i said i'm real new to this scene....

If you want tips just start reading all the current and back posts. Start bricking your workouts also. Bike for an hour hard then run afterwards immediately. Until you combine all three sports you can not assume anything. You could be the fastest runner on your block, but try hitting it hard after you have biked 40k at race pace and swam 800+ meters, you will think differently and you will run differently.

Good Luck
