Is anyone doing Lifetime on July 16th in Minneapolis? This is a local event for me, but I thought I would see if anyone other TriFuel members would be there. Later...

but not doing it.. I found the entry fee a bit high.. actually I found the entry fee crazy high, so I opted to save my money and that way I get to watch the pros kick butt! Last year I gave LORETTA HARROP a high five as she ran through the shoot to win the thing! It was sweet! That's what I love about this sport, you can get right up to the most elite athletes in the world!!!! Good luck if you are racing!!!

I'll be doing the sprint distance. Our waves don't start until 9:55 AM, let's just hope the weather is not as hot as it was this past weekend or else I'm going to melt...

I agree, it would be nice if it wasn't quite as warm. Too bad the original forecast of mid 80's has been changed to low 90's. :(

My main concern is that water temp. I would prefer to wear my wetsuit and all these warm days is making me worry a bit that the water will be above 84. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Good luck on Saturday triNick...

I got an email from a friend today, he stated the following

Quote:
I checked the Mpls Parks and Rec website for the water temp at Lake
Nokomis in anticipation of the Lifetime Tri (my first - gulp). The
temp listed for July 11 was 79.7. Looks like wetsuits are out for
USTA purposes.

then some one else replied with

Quote:
You can wear a wetsuit, but you won't be eligible for any age group
awards, international fame and fortune, etc.

So walchka, there is the news you weren't looking for. I swam in the lake last night, wasn't bad. I did swim with my wetsuit, it wasn't too warm for it. I was just practicing with it on, just in case.

Good luck to all...
