Since I am officially registered now in IM Canada (Penticton) I thought I would step things up a bit. I started with the real training now. Today I got up and rode to Cypress Mtn. By myself I rode to the top in 45min. (15km up a 7-8% incline). This is gonna be a weekend event till taper time. Except next week we are riding the Penticton bike course. After the summit ride I rode to the ocean along Marine Drive in West Van to Lighthouse Park and the Horshoe Bay Ferries where I met up with a bike club. We/I did the mtn ride again this time with them!! Thats 2 times for me (I am a masocist :D ), but interestingly enough the legs barely hurt now! My core is tired though. Gotta do this more often to aclimate to the stress.
The day ended with the ride home and a detour to Iona (Van airport) for a total of 167km bike followed with a light 5km brick. In total 5:53hrs. bike and 25:02min run.

Brief 10 minute swim in open water (IM Coeur d'Alene). Then strolled around athlete's village from 10am - 4pm checking out the goods and listening to Paula and Roch answer questions. Quite a breezy day but very managable.

Went for a pack ride with 50 or so riders got dropped an hour ended up doing 40 miles total in the end, with no draft in turned into one hell of a workout trying to catch up., was doing two minute intervals at avg 26 mph up hills down hills against wind etc. Needless to say i never caught the pack again. Went swimming after that for 45 minutes ran some drills with a friend of mine.

Haven't seen one of these in a while, so... WDYDT?
Brick for me: 55min at race pace with 30 second intervals. 20 minute run with 6x 100 easy strides.
Yesterday was 4x 800 @5:50 pace.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
