Texas here. I live in the North Dallas area. I am doing the Cow Creek Classic in Waxahachie this weekend and i might be doing the practice course at Lake Grapevine for the Disco Tri July 10th. Plano Bicycle Assoc. has a great organized ride every Tuesday and Thursday at Custer and Independence, they go about 35 miles. Are you doing any races?

I'm in Richardson. Just down the street from Richardson Bike Mart. Would love to get together for rides or runs.

Not doing the Las Colinas Tri but I am doing the Disco Tri the following weekend in Grapevine. I will occasionally go with the Richardson ride or the Plano Bike Association.

I am also in North Dallas. I am not doing the Irving race, but I am doing the Disco Tri in Grapevine. I did the practice "race" this past weekend. If you are looking for a group to ride with, look at dallasathletes.com. Great group, all skill levels, really enjoyable group of people. Our weekend rides leave from Coppell, and we have a Wednesday night ride that leaves from Carrolton and goes through Las Colinas.

DFW here too...Carrollton.

Me and my girlfriend, Julie, would definetely like to get together for some workouts. We are doing the PlayTri in Grapevine July 30th and then the Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney Oct. 3rd. We have just started, and have joined a few rides from Richardson Bike Mart. We do most of our swimming and other workouts at the Y near Midway and Northhaven. We also have memberships to 24hr Fitness, so we sometimes get in workouts there too. We workout nearly everyday, so getting together wouldn't be a problem. In fact, we are doing the Whiterock Lake route this afternoon around 6 p.m., if you want to meet and do a ride. (starting at Hillcrest and Alpha)

We are both beginners and really hooked on this sport. Julie would really like to have a woman training partner, which would allow me push myself harder on the cycling and running. Any woman out there that want a partner??

You can call me at 469-628-7102, or email me at:

Looking forward to meeting someone with the same sickness!!!

Jeremy

I'm in Austin, and I'm doing the Aquarena Springs tri on the 24th. I think. Okay, okay, I registered for it, but I am having the hardest time getting motivated for it. Woke up to thunder this morning, which meant I could postpone a ride, have spent the rest of the day playing with the kids and cleaning/cooking for company tomorrow. The tri has such a short swim--my best event--and I'm still struggling with the running. I'm trying to find my inner jock today. Anyone seen her?

Hey Texans,
I'm new to the D/FW area and would be up for some training rides. I'm not doing any triathlons this year for financial reasons but am training for the White Rock marathon and a century ride in Round Rock in the fall.

I live off Meandering Way/Arapaho (near Richardson Bike Mart) and haven't done any of their organized rides yet. I have done the route (Renner to Sachse) on my own and with my partner though. Lately, I have just been riding out from my house to the White Rock trail and head out to the lake, but it's getting really old dodging soccer balls and in-late skaters (no offense to any participants).

I moved from Bryan/College Station where I had a great tri group and great access to country roads. I miss riding with all the trees and cows.

So any recommendations on where to do some good rides would be great! Or maybe y'all could post on here when you organize a ride.

Take care,
Lara

Triarch (member) told me about dallasathletes.com I have joined them for a couple of rides and had fun. (they do swims, runs, rides, etc...) I agree, it gets boring doing the same old thing over and over again. They have A LOT of people and I thought it was pretty thrilling riding in such a large pack...I felt like I was in the Tour de France or something. Anyhow, you can check them out by going to their website or sending a message to Triarch and he can fill you in and invite you out.

I have also checked into a another group called fit2train.com and they seem like they have a good group too. I have yet to join them, but I e-mailed their director yesterday and he said to join them for a few workouts before deciding. You can check out their schedule on their website. It is an excel file with two pages: South Group schedule and North Group schedule.

My girlfriend and I are pretty spontaneous and are usually up for anything. If you would like to get together for some workouts let me know.

I'm looking for local routes I can take around Kingwood. The less lose dogs the better. :) I can't find anything on the www so I thought I'd try here. Any input is appreciated.

Up north as well. I currently live around the Lamar/Braker area, but will be moving to Jollyville/Braker come the middle of November.
