DJ, get out your calculator.
Speed = Distance/Time
therefore,
Distance = Speed x Time
and
Time = Distance / Speed
for example, If your 40K split is 1:15:00 or 1.25 hrs, then Speed = 40 / 1.25 = 32kph
so, you want your time for 21k @ 32kph? Easy, that's:
Time = Distance / Speed = 21 / 32 hrs = 0.656 hrs or 39.375 minutes
as long as you know 2 of the 3 variables it is a simple calculation.

does anyone have a table that i could look up my 40k time in for cycling and find my predicted time for 21k?
also on a separate note, if anyone is interested in running then a sweet book to get is ''lore of running '' by a guy called noakes, its about 1000 pages long but its an awesome book about everything you could want to know about running, including training of great runners. im reading it at the moment and i dont have any friends who like running so i thought id telly ou guys about it
