What do you all do to celebrate the longest day of the year? As a Swede, I've learned to cherish this day.

I'm thinking of a late night bikeride or walk.

Well, we're in the middle of a flood, so I'm thinking... maybe run around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to protect our assets (I work with boats)... at least we'll have daylight. It didn't get truly dark until about half past midnight last night. Good ol' North(ish).

You still have a little ways to catch up to us Calgarians. Last Saturday's run and ride were nasty!
Got dark here at about 11:30.

Since this is the longest day of the year I would be celebrating my 4 year anniversary of my first marathon (in Edmonton).

Caroline24...I work for a Swedish company so I have been to Stockhol many times. It is so strange for me (having always lived in New England) to go in January and have it dark by 3 or 4 o'clock and then go back in June and I don't remember the sun ever setting.

I think where I live, the daylight change is not as dramatic as it is in Stockholm so we don't seem to pay much attention to it. It is always nice to get a different persepctive on it. Maybe next year I will have to schedule something on that day.

I've actually only lived in Sweden one winter (this past year) but was there ever summer as a kid. So I always got the good side of it. But Midsummer is such a huge thing there and my mom always taught me to not take daylight for granted. There is still time to do something today. Yeah its not the LONGEST day but its only one off!

What Swedish company do you work for.

I finally got my roommate on a road bike! We celebrated with a nice evening ride (short, but a lot of fun). Now he and another friend want to start going on rides more... and I get new riding buddies!

Supposed to be like 17 hours of light up here. Started at 5 this morning, crazy. Probably do a ride later this afternoon.

I work for ASSA ABLOY.

Unfortuantely work and dog committments will keep me from doing too much tonight. Any working out will be in the basement so sunlight is not an issue

Awww... blah... the days are getting shorter now... so, as toseen already knows, that's the first bleak step to winter. Two months of summer vs. eight of winter - lovely country for triathlon.
