Pre race drinks/supplements
Generally I drink a bottle of accelerade 1 hour before. Eat a gel and some water or sip some accelerade about 15mins before the race. Of course, though, I have eaten a breakfast about 2 -2.5 hours before the start of the race.
I use cytomax. I really enjoy the flavor and I think it does a really good job.

Ultra Fuel three hours before. Then a light breakfast if I have time. Gel and water about 15 minutes before, then start on Cytomax.
I used to eat a 1/2 bagel and a banana 2-2.5 hours before a race.
This weekend, I drank a bottle of Accelerade, starting about an hour before the race, then 5 minutes before the start, took a Hammer Gel.
In T1, took another Hammer Gel, then drank from an Accelerade bottle during the ride, another Hammer Gel in T2, and just water on the 10K run.
I felt great, and finished strong.

I drink "Yogi Bhajan's Ancient Herbal Formula Men's Tea".
It is an Ayurveda tea and works really great for me.
One hour before the race I drink some apple juice with water.
What I never drink before any sportive activity is milk or milky products. This is upsetting my stomach.
I once tried energy gel pre race (10k run) but my stomach was not able to deal with that and I had to deal with some pain.
So I just went back to nature.
I agree, stay away from Dairy!!! It upset my stomach, and it also has given me a snotty head. Seems to be something in milk that stimulates mucus production...

CYTOMAX ALL THE WAY !! Gatorade gives me cramps on the run. I usually do a bagel 2 hours before. Drink the cytomax all day during the tri. NO gu they make me gag.



that help with energy?
