Looking to buy some tri specific bike shoes. Right now the top of my list includes: Shimano, Specialized, and Louis Garneau. Fitting onto Ultegra pedals. Thoughts? Recommendations?

I went with the Specialized Trivent, very light, very breathable and great draining system. Excellent with no socks. Con: Takes abit of practice to get them on while on the bike. However, I am sure they all do.

I ride the Ultegra pedals; my shoes are the Louis Garneau Tri Air. I love the ventilation, the insole options, and the overall design (except that the flames at the back are a little lame, but they're hardly noticeable).

I've had Sidi road shoes, mtb shoes, and now tri shoes and love them all - I wouldn't buy any other shoe.

I have the Shimano shoes and they are great. Light and comfortable with a drainage hole under front of toe and One wide strap opens away from cranks.

Love them!

Ive tried on LG's Tri Air , the Sidi T1, and Pearl Izumi Tri-road....

The sidi fit like a glove, two straps, lots of ventilation
The pearl izumi fit well but with the single strap it took several adjustments to get that snug fit..
The LG shoes I liked the least, single strap issue and they just didnt fit my foot as well...

Id suggest trying them all on...(as well as every other tri shoe)

I think that the next pair of shoes Im gonna buy will be some kind of ATB shoe because:
* I want to be able to run(not the run leg, just run with the bike) in my shoe (without looking like im walkin on glass)

* people say tri shoes save in transition time..(not if you eventually put sox on for the run)

Right now, im using my old lake ATB shoes (with yankz) and It works great in both T1&T2...
(my running shoes have yankz also, so its, slip bike shoe off and running shoe on.. )

heck, it sure is a good thing that there are so many products out there, as you can tell ...
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!

Yeah - I use Lake MTB shoes (these ones) for my MTB and for touring. It's nice to have some flexibility and be able to run around.
