yea, once I get into something I just dive right in.....might have bitten off more than I can chew, but that's how I roll...let us know how the race goes...
good luck caroline and ironmike and anyone else racing this weekend. Races are so much fun, but no matter how many i do, i still get nervous before them.

Well I did it and kept the streak alive!! I know I love this sport but I forget just how much. Its so amazing being out there. My endorphins go nuts. The swim was really choppy but a STRONG current helped me take 3 min off my time from last year (no I'm not that much faster). The bike was about a min faster (62 sec) and the run was just a few seconds faster than last year. Its amazing to cross the line and see the time a full few min faster than the previous year -- even if mother nature does play a role.
Can't wait for the rest of the season! Hope everyones races today went well!

Well done, Caroline.
How about some numbers please?
Choppy water you say? Was it windy on the bike too?
Let's have a race report, if you are feeling up to it.

Sweet! I figured I'd better check Trifuel before I left for my race. Might bring me luck...lol...way to go Caroline!! Good luck to the Sunday racers!!
Great result - Congratulations!
Caroline... I was in Hyannis yesterday as well! Knew you must have been talking about Craigville Beach when you mentioned the chop and current... beach run was nice... huh? Lot's of flats on the bike course I heard... and saw a few... glad we both made it in with no problems... :)
Congrats!
It was Hyannis indeed. I didn't even notice the beach run to be honest. It didn't feel like much. Yeah I was talking to one guy after the race who got a flat. I love timeout and that course. So much fun. I hope you were happy with your performance! See you in September at hyannis II?

C24,
Very happy with my results... finished 1:11:56 - though I havent been able to see the splits yet and how I did in my age group... I was able to pass a few people on the run... with such a weak run leg I usually get passed continually on the run... but this was a relatively flat run - I liked it! Swim was ~4:45, bike was just under 34:00 and run was just under 33:00. the group I raced with this weekend is considering Hyannis 2... might bring the entire clan down for the weekend... the kids would love it! Just hope the weather is a little more agreeable race morning... makes for nicer viewing!
Im going to do my first Oly distance with a group out of Rhode Island - American Sports Events - on July 23rd in Tiverton, RI. Second year they'll be running this race and while the fields are relatively small it's right in my back yard and would like to give the company some support.
They also run a sprint series on top of the olympic series... check 'em out - americansportsevents.com
Congrats again on the win !
glad to see everyone is doing well....first half I finished in 5 hours and 15 minutes and got 30th overall and 2nd in my age group....ran a guy down with 2 miles to go in the run to secure my 2nd place finish, it was a great feeling...
Iron Mike... got any of that 7 on your run you'd be willin' to part with?? he he he...
Nice job on the run to secure #2!!
It sounds like everyone is off to a great start. Great job lctri and ironmike. Anyone else out there have race results from the weekend to share?

lol...I'll see what I can do...running is actually my biggest limiter....I have the endurance, I just need more speed.....I have about a month till my next race(olympic) so I'm gonna do lots more speed work. See if I can improve my time over my last race. After 3 weeks of racing...it's gonna be nice to rest.
Mike... just realized that Caroline looks like she has enough in her run to spare for both of us... and then some...
:)
I'll give you my run if I can borrow some swim... I think I'm being generous with a 5 on that one.

I'm ready to wheel and deal at any time...just let me know...lol
*grin* It's almost like a relay team is being born... but instead of sharing parts of the sport to do it's borrowing just the effort and not the body :)

Well folks my season officially starts on Saturday. I've decided that this race is my warmup for the season. Training over the winter and spring were not quite what I expected but this will give me a good opportunity to see where I need go from here! So far, I'm undefeated in my age group -- keep in mind I haven't done that many races -- and I might also get a slice of humble pie this weekend (but lets hope not!).
Good luck to all the other racers this weekend. Get pumped for an amazing season (or continuation of one for those who have already raced this spring). I'm so excited to start the season on my favorite courses.
