Looks like we are moving up to Maine this fall. i have done some research and found a half a dozen tri's throughout the state. i was just wondering if any of you guys had ever ventured up there for a race or to train? maybe some of you have vacationed and trained there? i just need some reassurance that this is a good move for us "endurance sport" wise.

i have heard that most of the triathletes travel down to Massachusetts or New Hampshire to race just because the water is so cold up there.

any comments appreciated...

The Lobsterman in mid September is a great race- the water is usually pretty cold though, about 60-65 degrees. You'll have to be in a full wetsuit, definitely.
I think most people travel to Massachusetts for bigger races, more competition, etc.
Maine is beautiful though. But in the winter, you'll be snowshoeing, probably not riding. Unfortunately.

Happy Training!
