I've been having pain in one of my heels and have had soreness in the ankles and bottoms of my feet. This pain is there in the mornings and in the first ten minutes of any run. After ten minutes the pain completely goes away. I can live with this pain, but I am wondering if eventually I am going to injure my heel somehow. What do the running gurus think.

Definitley no expert, but it sounds like plantar fascitis (sp?). Several articles on the web of how to get over it. Look in some of the running specific forums as well. Pretty common.

Hope this helps.

Plantar Fascitis. No question about it. I suffered from it for 8 months and tried every remedy under the sun. The only one I found that helped, and ultimately allowed me to heal, was a device called the strasburg sock. Get on line and check it out.
