what size should I ride

if you can pull for a trek 5000, you can swing for a lower end QR. The variation in bike sizes between companies is to be expected. They all have different geometries which is gonna mess up the sizes. HAve a shop measure you and hop on the bike. See how it feels. See if you can rent it for the weekend. if theres any back pain, its prolly not the right size.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I have three different bike shops all telling me different things.
I am 5'7" 158lbs.
Island Triathlon and bike has a nice 50 cm felt 65 that I like but the next time that I came back they said I could use a 48cm cervelo dual 9. Its a huge investmest so I really need help. Now the really confusing part is that I ran accross a bike at The Bike Factory, the Trek 5000. Its a beautiful bike and It has good components on it. It is a size 52 and they said I fit that perfectly. Now the bike shop in Pearl city says that I can ride a 54 but with a short top tube. (that is thier smallest size) The giant's method of sizing really screwed up my mind. I ride a medium Kona Stuff Mountain bike and it fits fine. Although, the medium on the road bike scale starts at 55cm.
Right now I think that all the bike shops are out for my money. It seems as though they want to sell me what they have and get me out of there. If anyone is around the same height and weight please let me know what you think. The only respectable shop in my opinion is in Mililani and they only carry highline stuff like Kuota, Quintana and Bianchi which are out of my reach.
What would you do?
