Does any one have this sport watch? I'm curious if it's worth the cost.

What are the general recommendations for this type of technology? Good for a beginner? Good for training? What watches are recommended for Triathletes?

:)

I don't know that one, but I love my Garmin Forerunner 301 (I wrote a review of it in that section of this site)

I’ve got the Forerunner 301 as well. It's probably the greatest piece of kit I've ever purchased! Speed, distance, heart rate, calories burned, modes for bike and run. And it stores all of your workouts in its internal memory. It's like 300+ but if you shop around online I got mine for like $225. Highly recommend

Thanks for the tip. The 301 seems a little bulky. That's why I was looking at the Ciclosport...but it is $400+. I guess you really have to pay for the new/smaller technology. The 301 would fit better into my budget.

If I remember right (and I could be totally wrong here) the cyclosport one needs more than just the watch and HR strap. THe 301 is just that one piece and the HR strap. It is a bit bulky (I don't often wear it when not training) but it was easy to get used to for training with.

That is the big difference between the Garmin and all of the other brands... timex, Ciclosport..etc is that you have your watch, your HR monitor and your GPS receiver which most people put on there waist or shoe. With the Garmin you've got your HR monitor and the watch. The watch has the GPS in it. And yeah its a bit large, but so it the display which makes it a whole lot easier to read when your really pushing the pace

Ok...I get it now. They don't always tell you that you have to wear a gps reciever on your hip. Thanks for the info. :)
