I'm in Boston too! However, does "nyfan" mean new york fan like new york YANKEES fan? Can we still be friends? Hmmmm . . . . .

Happy Training!

But we can still get along. Have you done any Tri's in Mass? Which ones have you done? Looking to do a few this summer. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Go Yankees...........

nyfan-

Yes, I've done a few in massachusetts- the Cranberry Lake Classic, I think is the name of it- It's in late August. I definintely recommend that one- beautiful course, nice people. Then there is also the Boston Tri in early september, but in my opinion it's not worth the 90 buck entry fee for a sprint- the swim is cold and the water is disgusting, the bike course is flat, boring and windy and the run is really ugly- through industrial boston. I would go to active.com, do an advanced search and entery in triathlon and massachsetts, and find something that way. Also, the Lobsterman in Maine in early september is a very good one- absolutely stunning course.

Happy Training!

i agree with sbstockybitch's description of the labor day tri in boston... not so great (and even though they say that the water's like 99% clean, there's always that 1% and that one person who gets something, right? well that person would be me... ) last season i did the danskin tri in webster, ma (women only) and it was a fun one... good for newbies. i also did a sprint in duxbury which was ok... it was a new race and needed a little work, but i think that they changed some stuff for this year and it looks better. just my two cents... hooray for nice weather finally!

try these:

cranberrycountrytri.com/HomePage.html

firm-racing.com

timeoutproductions.com

and in NH

timbermantri.com

The TimeOut races sell out fast. Hyannis I is already sold out. So if any of those look good to you get in on them quick..

and for finding any race, the ever popular trifind.com

but please lose the yankee's shirt.....

Hello from Boston too! I'm going to do my first sprint tri in August... I've been running a couple of 5ks to prepare (in addition to the biking and swimming etc.!) since I felt running was my weakest point. (we'll see soon, though!) Any advice for a beginner? Especially nutrition and maybe some training tips?

Glad to be here! :-)~

Yeah, you need a spot in one of the garages. Although, I regret taking my car there at all, you just don't need one.
