I know this is the zillionth "what to wear" question but here goes:

I'm doing my first tri at the end of June and am wondering how uncomfortable it would be to bike and run in wet bike shorts (with a cycling chamois not a tri chamois). I absolutely can't run in my bathing suit - my thighs would spontaneously combust about 1k in without fabric between them. :p

I am in the midst of losing weight so I don't expect to be in the size I would be now for too much longer - hence my reluctance to buy shorts that might well only be used once!!! I need a primo chamois in my shorts on my bike so I certainly wouldn't ride in tri shorts except during the race.

I am planning on wearing my jogging bra and cycling shorts in the pool and showing off my less than flat tummy until I make it to the transition zone and can put a tshirt on.

Thanks in advance for any advice !!

I would be careful wearing your cycling shorts in the pool, only because I did that a few times and the chlorine ruined the material of the shorts. I'm not sure if there is any cycling shorts that are durable enough for chlorinated water. I also wore my sports bra in as well...and nothing happened to it so just be sure to check the material. My sports bra is very similar to bathing suit material. Just a little FYI for you...just from personal experience!! Good Luck in your first tri...should be a wonderful time!
