I put a link in my most recent post, and before posting checked with the "preview" function in the admin section to see if that would work. It did appear correctly there. However, in the summary page and now when I go to the post it is just text and not a link.

Can html be used inside a post or not?

Ya I saw that. You can post html in the posts. Were you using the wysiwyg editor when writing the post? If so did you type the html code or use the toolbar buttons on the top of the editor to hypertext the link?

My initial thought is that the editor may possibly convert the code to regular text if that was used. And if you don't use the editor then you can post html code directly but would need to include line breaks code as well.

Try editing the post and highlight the Malibu Event text and click the Hypertext button in the toolbar. It should popup and window to insert the URL.

If that doesn't work, I'll have to investigate further.

You can still create links, but it's best if you do it this way:

1. Select the globe button:

2. enter in the link you wish to display:

3. enter in the url that the link will go to:

4. you should see something like this:

cool site

Hope that helps

Sweet dude. Thanks for the screen shots. Been running around like a chicken with my head cut-off this morning - not including this morning's training run :) Appreciate the help!

Ok, I will try it out.
...
Ok I went back and hit "edit post" and it went ahead and made it appear as a link there (I was writing just with the admin new post section and went to the edit post option from the list of recent posts to fix it).

I think what confuses me the most is how it worked differently in the preview... and now how it fixed itself.

It still doesn't show up as a link in the main page, but does if you go to the post.

I'll look into the preview option. The link shows up in your main page o.k., just not on the summary page for Triathlonlife.com. It strips html when pulling an abstract as it does it be character count. If the html was left in the links would break if the character count ended before the closing of the tag. Also prevents spamming on the main page.

Ah you guys are talking about the blog site... well I hope my post helps someone out there :D

I guess that's why this post is under 'Member Blogs' doh! I never look at what forum heading these things are on. Seems like if it's not on the main page when I visit trifuel, I don't see the posts. Time to start paying attention I guess :)

I'm the same way -- only see posts on the main page. I'm still figuring out that whole "new posts" indicators and such.
