i read somehwere that it was a good idea to replentish carbs for about 1 carb per pound of weight in order to replentish well 15-30 minutes post workout. and i think it said something over 60 minutes of working out as well.
anybody have any good sites or info on this?
you can almost double your body's glycogen stores if you replenish carbs while you are still running hot. you shoud have about 1g/lb carbs and about 1/5 that protein.
I like to eat yogurt with cereal and fruit after a good workout...
Eating a proper mixture of carbs and protein post workout will also aid in recovery. I like to have a 20oz servinig of Accelerade and whole wheat bagel w/ jelly or peanut butter almost immediately after a long ride or run.
