I'm re-debating looking into adding blogs for members. If I did add them, would you use it? It would be super simple, nothing as configurable or complex as wordpress or blogger, but it would be a way to keep a journal of your triathlon training, get feedback, open more personal discussions with your peers here on Trifuel. Let me know what you think...
I might be interested. I wonder if there's a way to do a trifuel blog through blogger or something, kind of the way you have your site search through google. I'm sure many of the people here already have blogs elsewhere (I voted that I would blog here, but I have a blogger blog too, and I'm honestly not sure if I would take the time to keep up with 2 blogs). I don't know if it's possible, but maybe there's a way to just blog with blogger, but have it through this site too.
ya. trying to get a feel for how people currently blog. keeping two is probably not viable. i have the blog aggregator (http://blogs.trifuel.com/) which collects feeds from current blogs like blogger, but wanted to see if adding a blogging system within the site would be of interest or if I should work on improvements to the aggregator, or both...
Improve the aggregator. There are plenty of blog options out there that are user friendly and great, and there is really no need to compete. I do currently use the trifuel.net blog -- I'm not sure how a blog for here would be different (or honestly why you'd want to do both) -- but I will also be migrating away from that to a blog on my own site once I get that up and working (although I went with wordpress for import reasons).
It just seems like an area that you can skip, and focus your energy elsewhere.
I agree with Kylie - there are lots of blog engines out there. What might be good is something like what Facebook does where you can showcase a particular blog post in this arena. If there is canned software for that it might give you the biggest bang for the effort.
