Wow! Way to tough it out! Nice job guys!
Very inspiring.
Glad you made it in, and with your shoe dry! That part made me snort a little ;)
Wow....great job and report. I dont know how you did it.
To be honest...Scott being there made it do-able.
The ringing In my ears took my mind off the ankle! ;)

I enjoyed reading your report Anton. I find it inspiring how you get the most out of every experience, even the ones with adversity. Congratulations to both of you.
You are truly an inspiration, Anton. Thank you for sharing your insights and wisdom along the road of endurance we're traveling. Your report was most likely a shortened version of what it was really like running with Beads  ...yet it painted a clear picture of your experience at the JFK. I hope you recover quickly! CONGRATS Ultra man!

Great report. Just 2 questions:
1. Were kilts involved?
2. Are you going to be healed up in time for Goofy?
Congrats ... quite the gut check. Nice job.

No...No kilts involved, although we saw a very unfriendly guy in one.
This Thursday's Turkeyday run is out...Goofy is iffy...depends on swelling and such...I could always walk 'em!

That's odd. I don't usually associate kilts with unfriendliness. I always assumed guys in the U.S. wearing kilts can't really afford to be jerks.
Anyway, I do hope your ankle heals up quickly. Remember to R.I.C.E. and take it easy.
Beads and Anton -- there are some great shots of you guys on Brightroom :) Smiles and all!
Only 5 months delayed.
My race report is up finally.
Did I really lose the color in my face? Yikes! You are always welcome here for the JFK, or anytime for that matter...
Registration opens July 1. Don't hesitate.

Some classics in there Scott!
I pretty much talked the whole time so that was a personal accomplishment for me.
--> I call BS. I think you can talk through anything... you being *quiet* for any of it would have been the PA. But also less fun I guess!
and even running out of my shoe.
“You say I’m sorry again, and I’ll pee in your shoe.” No apologies were needed.
Fun read... thanks!

Dude, You seriously looked in pain.
I am planning to register as soon as it opens. I am trying to talk a buddy of mine into it as well. Spreading the word. ;-0

It is amazing of the reputation I have of being chatty,
to even the people I have never spoken to. ;-)
It was grand time had by all
I'm glad you shared your experience with us....and even more happy for you that you conquered your first 50-miler! Congrats! I felt that having people to talk with passed the time. Eleven hours seemed more like three...its went fast despite the pain. Well, maybe Anton has another perspective. I'm not so sure that's the case in a 100-miler, and maybe one day we'll find out :) For now, even if its five months later...enjoy your success! What's next???

Despite my b!tch!in' I had a great time!
There were some low spots like any long event but I know I want to do this again.
It is a long day but I knew that from the outset so that didn't get me down.
I had great company and all the other participants that I met all had a great attitude.
I eventually want to go for a 100 miler.

My race report on Beads and I at the JFK fifty miler is on my blog.
I may write more later but I have to go soak my foot.
