Anyone Can Help me With a Training Plan?
Tons of free ones on the net. Do a quick search and you should find what you are looking for.
Training plans really depend on a lot of factors:
1. Experience level
2. Time you want to commit
3. What distance you want to focus on
4. How much intensity you want
If you're currently putting in 21 hours/wk., I think a solid plan is a really good idea. That's serious volume, in some cases too much unless you are working towards a big race, and carries an increased potential for injury.
I would suggest picking up some books or adding them to your Xmas wish list. Two I have found helpful are "Training Plans for Multisport Athletes" by Gale Bernhart (sp?), and "Triathletes Training Bible" by Joe Friel. The first one has some nice off-the-shelf plans for all distances and experience levels. The TT Bible is more complex, but is really good for anyone except the greenest beginner.
Definitely talk to your track coaches about what you are doing, too. They may or may not be OK with any extra activity you are planning during track season.
I know there are free ones ;p. I'm looking for one with someone who has expierence in a day by day scheduling program, and who can make me one =)

Thanks for your responses.
I'm Working toward Olympic Distance races. I'm moving on from the sprints.
So do you think I should only do 2hrs a day, 6 days a week? Is that what I got from your post? I'll be getting those books definatly, but until then , can you recommend some of the distances I should be doing during my training?
Ie - on a run day, how long should I run, 4 miles? More less?
Bike day - How long?
That would be a basic , but help me a lot, so I know what I need to put in to get results for a Olympic Race. I am racing btw, im not doing them for just completion anymore.
How often are you planning on racing? I try to get in 2-3 brick workouts for your specific distance so for Oly I would ride 25 miles and then run a 10k. And then on the weekends ride 40+ on Saturday and run for an hour or more on Sunday. Then I swim a couple days a week before work at my gyms pool. But if you race every weekend you have to omit the long bike and run rides or swap out a brick or 2 during the week every coupld of weeks or so for the long workouts. They are the best for building your base. The bricks are good for speed.
When I was just a road cyclists I was riding close to 300 miles a week between after work and on the weekends. That really built my base.
This is the Olympic training plan available here on Trifuel.

There are plenty of others out there at places like beginnertriathlete.com or if you're willing to pay a little bit of money, set plans from places like Endurance Nation.com or Training Peaks.com
The hours/wk look low compared to what you've been doing, but IMHO...
1. You're going into track season, so that's where your focus should be. This will just keep you on the bike and in the water while you are in track season.
2. Unless your big race of the year is between now and March, you're in the off season. Ease off, work on technique (see some of the drills mentioned in each of those books, or on sites like this). You're young so your body seems to handle a lot of hard, fast work now, but your bones aren't fully developed. Shin splints and stress fractures along your growth plates are common among teenage athletes. Don't kill yourself in December for races in June.
Good luck and welcome! There are tons of resources here, and more than a few high school and college age folks who, like you, are getting into the endurance lifestyle now.

You might think in terms of 'key workouts' instead of simple volume. Schedule your three most important work outs (probably long run, long bike, and bike intervals) and then squeeze everything else in around that.
Maybe your coach would let you off once a week to go riding.

HA HA HA!!! I can just imagine the look on my old coach's face if I aske dto take off from track so I could ride my bike. He'd prolly make me do an extra 400-800-400 set to get my mind back on track!
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
have you read friel's book triathlete training bible. it's a bit technical but helps you build a year round plan if that is what you want.
Definately pick up Friel's book. You could have someone tell you what to do and when to do it, but it's a lot better to understand WHY. When you know why you are doing something when you are doing it, it allows your schedule to be more flexible, because YOU can make the choices you need to make, and be confident in doing so.
With track season coming up, my plan would be one or two days in the pool, just to keep some feel of the water. And two or three days on the bike. If you do two days, have one ride be about 2 hours, and try to work it up to three as the track season winds down. The other rides should be form focused. I wouldnt worry too much about intervals or anything on the bike, just work on form and endurance. When track is done, you can ramp up the bike intensity.

as joe-h and triguy said, get the training bible and walk through the training schedule set up (for free)...it's very detailed
if money's an issue, check your local library to see if they have so you don't have to buy it...otherwise amazon can get it to you pretty quickly
(please understand that what you're asking is not a 1 min answer, and it also requires a lot of input from you specifically...so don't think that we wouldn't like to help you more...)

Hi Guys,
I've done about 5 Triathlons, Most of them for fun, but now I'm starting to get competitive. I do about 3 Hrs workouts per day, on my own, and at my own discression.
Track Distance team starts at my high school soon (I am a sophomore) and I'm looking for help with getting a training plan going, day by day (very specific).
Right now, I kinda just do what I feel like, running being the most of my training, because I personally believe it helps the most =).
If anyone has a plan they can set me up with , or walk me through I would appreciate it a lot.
Here is some background on how hard I plan to Train, and my times as such
My 5k Run after a 10mile bike : I can push 19mins
My Avg Weekly Run Totals : 30 miles
I don't really keep track of biking because my odometer is broken (I'm getting a new one tomorrow) and I will start keeping track of swimming in the near future.
I can't afford a coach, so please keep those comments away =). I would if i could, but I know there is plenty of experienced people here who I think can set me up, with maybe a 1 or 2 month cycle to work around my school track team (we will run 3 miles a day at first, but then move to 6-7 a day until end of feb)
Thanks for your time!
Kevin
