wahoo! great job.
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
Very nice!! Congrats :)
And man that ice felt great, and I think that is my favorite finish area for an IM so far.
Oh, and there's never too much info in a race report! ;)

To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

Thanks for the welcome. Race Reports are my favorite. I read them all and I love them all. I have never written my own however...
What I loved about Ironman Louisville
-the volunteers
-the athletes
-the guy who ran with me from mile 24-to the finish ( I don't know who he was but he had me going 7:30 pace and encouraged me the whole way)
-seeing my husband at every possible spot he could get to..and then some
-4th Street Live
-there is even a little love for the Ohio River
-grilled cheese and french fries dinner
-becoming an IRONMAN
What I disliked about Ironman Louisville
-miles 2-4 of the marathon ( I had a minor meltdown but somehow pulled myself out of it)
-throwing up for an hour after the finish (was that too much info?)
What I learned...
-mental game is everthing
-ice down your shirt is wonderful
-I can be so proud of 1800 people I don't even know.
