Triathlon and Charity
active.com has offers some fundraising help. not sure if they charge for that service or not. good luck!
Often times if you talk with them about what you would like to do. They will assign someone to you to explain how they typically handle the situation. Typically they are very willing to work with you.
Sometimes they will keep track of the funds you have raised, sometimes not. Depending on their resources I suppose.
Good luck!
You can also try firstgiving.com
I know a number of people who have use it. I think they send the tax donation letters directly to the contributors. The websites of the American Cancer Institute should also have some info about how to do it. Good luck! I admire you!
Set goals...... but be here now. Enjoy the ride to the finish line.

Hey all-
A while ago, I was thinking about doing a Team in Training triathlon. I've since decided not to, but still want to do something positive with my training and racing. We've had discussions about how triathlon can be a selfish sport, and personally I want to do something about it. My basic idea is to try to raise funds for either the American Heart Association the American Cancer Society and in some way relate it to my racing, i.e. have people donate on a 'per mile' basis or something like that, as well as racing in AHA or ACS garb. What do you guys think? Any ideas on...
1. How to relate fundraising to training/racing?
2. The logistics for having people donate... tax-deductibility and all that (I really don't know how this would work).
Thanks for your input-
