It's Veterans Day. I am able to enjoy the freedom I have to race and train because because my father fought and suffered and almost died on a snowy field in Belgium many years ago. We all know someone at a personal level who is responsible for our ability to live life the way we do.
Regardless of how you feel about the current situation we owe these people a debt we can never repay.
Take the time today to say thank you to those who have served be it Grandfather, Father, Sister, Brother, Daughter or Son...or just that guy down the block you hardly know.
To all you here at Trifuel who have worn the uniform, thank you.

I wish I was still in when I hear people like you Anton be so appreciative. This is a great country to serve and we need to remember all of the men and women still out there. Coming for expreince it is not an easy place to be out there in the desert, lets all try to remember this countries independance was not won on words and straight diplomacy...

Well put Anton. My Dad was a vet (WWII and Korea) as well as my Grandfather and uncles. We did some traveling throughout Europe and visited some of the battlefields and tried to show the kids what these people went through for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks for putting up this post Anton.
My Dad was a vet (Korea) and my little bro almost has his 20 years in, with the Navy.
Thanks to all the vets! Your dedication and sacrifices are appreciated.

As a vet, I really appreciate the recognition this one weekend a year (and the old movies on TNT!). Many folks don't seem to have it in them anymore and have "fallen off the bandwagon." Thanks for the continued motivation to serve and do well by our nation.

I get my commission in almost exactly one year from now, and I too would like to send out a thanks to all those who have come before, who have given us the ability to do what we love, speak out against what we find oppressive, enjoy the basic freedoms that every man should be able to enjoy. If not for your blood, sweat, and tears we would not be here today, god bless you all.

My grandfather served as a Marine in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and unsuccessfully tried to re-enlist, at the ripe-old age of 68, for the first Gulf War. He is definitely a hero in the hearts of our family and I am forever indebted to him and all of those who serve. THANK YOU ALL!

That's some hard sh!t Johnie. I love hearing about that kind of dedication and I hope I have the same to emulate your grandfather when my career in the military winds down.

Edit: Corrected spelling error in JohnieTri's name. Apologies.

That is a great story Johnie.

I would also like to personally thank every one who has far more courage than I do and is or was out there protecting our country and our freedom for generations to come.

Thanks Triphile: My grandmother said he moped around the house for about a month when he found out he wouldn't be able to re-enlist. Supposedly though, he received a letter from Pres. Bush(Sr.) saying "We've served our time, let's let the young guys handle this one." Pretty cool. You know the saying, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." This is definitely my grandfather. After my grandmother died, he remarried and actually wore his Dress Blues instead of a tux. Old school and die hard! This is probably a thread that should be continued like the TGGW threads. Thanks again to all of the active and inactive servicemen and women. Your sacrifices are praised!

That is such a great story Johnie, if only everyone had that much pride.
