USAT in NJ?

So I'm plotting out a rough schedule for next year and I noticed that the ones I'm planning on doing aren't USAT races. So I go on the USAT site and look up everything posted so far. There is not one race listed for NJ or NY. I found 1 sprint in CT and 1 in PA.

I know the northern-mid-atlantic region isn't exactly a hotspot for triathlons, but i'm guessing USAT membership is fairly useless around here unless you're travelling pretty far?

The 3 I've done in the Lehigh Valley (PA) are all USAT and a card was required. I think the Devilman and the NJ State Tri are USAT. I may be wrong, but some races might not be listed yet.

If you end up doing 3 or 4 races it is worth it.
Many sprints and Olys don't show up on the radar until after the new year. Check the sites in February and you'll se more events added. See you at the races :D

Ok, so I have to be patient. Grrrr.... don't they know I want to plan now!? I wouldn't mind having a schedule 2 years in advance.

I'm usually very patient. Except when I don't want to be :-D

The Devilman and NJ State are USAT races. I'd definitely recommend NJ State, it's been a great race and great atmosphere the last two year.

Try cgiracing.com and http://www.piranha-sports.com/

Both have at least dates for 2008 races up.

OK, so I'm thinking of changing my screen name to "Captain Observant" : every single race I'm looking at is a USAT race.

Here's what I'm looking at so far:

May
Patanella's King of the Hill XTERRA Sprint

June
Long Island Gold Coast Sprint

July
Asbury Park Metroman Sprint
Watch IMLP
NJ State Sprint

August
VA Beach 1/2 Marathon

September
Westchester Olympic

I'd certainly consider adding the Devilman and Philly. That'd give me 2 each in May, June, July and leave August for prepping for the half mary and Westchester. Any others I should consider, or consider swapping out?

Steelman in early August at Lake Nockamixon (Quakertown).
Great race and atmosphere. There is an OLY and a Sprint.

I like to do the Patanella's King of the Hill XTERRA offroad sprint Tri in the spring. It is a great race with a tough bike and run.

I'll let you know what I have on my schedule as I fill up my schedule in the spring.
