This doesn't qualify as a true run. I've got a slightly sore back so I've taken a few days off, not too mention a newborn in the house. But tonight, I went out for a very short run because I've been really tying to get the heel flick worked out mentally.

Not sure, but I may have had a little bit of a breakthrough, even though it was a very short run.

As I took off, I was really noticing that my legs seemed awfully straight - and I felt almost as if I was shuffling when I ran. I couldn't really get my knees bent for the recovery so the heel flick was very awkward.

I then sort of dropped my weight a little, and bent my legs a little more in the starting position and wow did it feel great. It allowed me to unweight the back leg and pull it back up almost effortlessly, and my legs were moving in very nice roundish shape.

It wasn't a big movement of my weight, almost just a slight tipping of my center of gravity, with a corresponding bend in my legs as if I was catching my balance. I ran a very short distance, but it seems like that was an important feeling, as I really ran very smoothly, my legs felt very light yet I was moving quite nicely.

I still need a couple of days off running and riding due to the lower back, but I'll be back out there this weekend for a run.
