Hey all-
Do you get any aid on the bike during a Half? Or are you responsible for carrying all your fluids with you?
Do any races provide gels during the run, like some marathons do? I am curious about the logistics of nutrition during a half - I understand how many calories/fluid/salt I should take in, I just wonder if its possible to carry it all! Anyone care to share how it works for them?

Most half iron distance races give multiple nutrition stops. I've only had one 1/2 IM race that gave 1 nutrition stop, at mile 16.

I would agree, most of them would have aid stations. If you don't see the info on the site, email the race director, they should be able to tell you. If it's a high profile race, they for sure will have plenty of aid stations with plenty of options.

All the HIM's that I have done are pretty loaded at the aid stations. It should be detailed on the race site. That way you can train with what will be offered on the course.
