I also would like to send my condolences and prayers to Ryan´s family and friends.
A tragic event today at the Olympic trials.
God bless all the runners taking the start tomorrow.

During the webcast, I heard that a runner was taken to the hospital, but I never would of thought that it was so tragic.
He was a friend and training partner to the winner of the marathon trial Ryan Hall. Still waiting on news of the cause.:(
Nothing to it, but to do it
An article in the paper on Sunday attributed it to a massive heart attack brought on by an enlarged heart. Apparently, it was a condition he'd known about for some time. Just heartbreaking.

Olympic hopeful Ryan Shay collapsed at mile 5 during the Olympic Time Trials-Men's Marathon in NYC this morning and was pronounced dead at 8:47 am. He was 28. His wife is also a competitive runner who hoped to join Shay in Beijing for the 10,000 meters. This is a huge loss for the distance running community. My prayers are with his family and all the runners participating in tomorrow's NYC marathon.
