Paul looks like he is sticking to the plan. he had some sciatic issues come pretty bad this week, so was planning to go easy on the bike. He is fit so he'll be good.
Keep the positive energy for my dad, he had a great swim and hope he can push through the bike. Had about a 30 minute pep talk with him last night- so he should stick it through.
Don't forget sometimes it's hard to be a "lieto" both these guys feel a pressure to be better than the rest to live up to underserved expectations. They have both worked really hard to get here. Go get em guys!!
Sorry I didn't tell you guys, but I ended up getting the stomach bug that was going around in Kona, and after 6 days with only 2 meals my body couln't come around in time for the race. So I am cheering on the boys from Bend, or.
Looks like everyone else is doing good- Go trifuelers !!!
dad just made it through the bike check- 16.6 mph
believe it or not that is his first time over 70 miles !!!
Wow, go Dad Lieto!
Matt - hope you're feeling better, but glad to know that you DNS, instead of something bad happening out in the water. Was awesome to watch you in Cancun. I think you were one of the 10,000 people on the course who blew by me. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi and intro myself.

Hope you are feeling better Matt! Mike and I are still recovering from that Kona bug as well.

Gary3 has finished! 13:30:31. Very nice!
Pops made it! 14:34 first Ironman. So stoked for him. he was really worried about riding so far.
thanks for all the well wishes guys. Awesome job to the rest of the Trifuelers, some sweet times, psychsyd crushed it!
my plan was going well, swam what I wanted. a little slow in the transition but changed my shorts and everything this time. wanted to ride comfortably. Bike a little slower than I hoped but had to take a serious leak around 80 miles in and that cost me a 3-4 minutes. Need to start training my bladder. that's why my transitions are so long as well :) run was doing o.k. cramped real bad at mile 1. worked it out and was able go to about 11 before things started cramping again. segment 2 of the run was rough. need to figure out my cramping situation, but overall glad to have broken 12 and another Ironman under the belt to learn from. I;ll write up a RR in the next day or two.
thanks again guys and congrats to all who raced!
Congrats everybody!

Hey guys, that is wicked that you were following along so closely. It was an amazing day out there, and am stoked to be done.
Thanks for the support, and will post a full race report soon!

You all did amazing! I had a houseful of people here watching Navy-Notre Dame go to triple overtime, while I was hunched over my laptop checking splits and sending you all good thoughts.
GREAT job! You've all motivated me immensely to do one.

My dad is a bad ass!!
First swim over 1.2
First ride over 60
First run over 13.1
Obviously should have put in a little more prep, but life gets in the way sometimes. This just shows that half the training we do is just mental training, so we "know" we can do the distance.
very proud
Kickass job everyone!
So, IMFL.com says online registration for next year opens at 12pm EST and active.com says it opens at 10am PST. What gives?

Ok....so apparently, IMFL.com is wrong, because the active.com link still isn't live.

Congrats on the good races everyone!
Congrats all!
Thanks Kylie for posting updates.
It was a great day in FL, I PR'd by and hour and 45 minutes. I might have done 2hrs but I had to stop 3 time on the run to try and prevent some blisters that were brewing.

Congrat to you and your dad Tribo and everyone else that raced. It was a perfect day for racing.
In our group of newbies from MN, all finished and one even qualified for Kona, it was amazing.
It was amazing to see Frank Farrar finish with 8 minutes to spare.

Congrats to all the IRONMEN and IRONGIRLS!! I wish I could have watched, but was sitting at work all day.

Great job boys and girls and what a great turnout of Trifuelers! I'm constantly amazed by anyone who completes an IM.

Thanks Kylie for keeping us "posted" and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! to everyone.

Leroy is in... 12:53:20. Nice sub-13 :)
Thanks for posting results! but... I was actually bib #390, not #380. Not to take anything away from the annonymous 380, but I actually crossed the line at 11:17 and change. I was on perfect plan to hit 10:30 until mile 13.1 of the run. Then it got pretty stinking hard!:p But I managed to keep the walking to the aid stations.
Initial thoughts - I knew the swim would be scary... but it was scarier than I thought. I knew the bike course would be crowded... but it was more crowded than I thought. And I knew the finish would be emotional... but it was freakin' awesome!
Great job everyone :) Wished I could have watched...wasn't exactly around anything electronic this weekend.

Congrats to everyone!!
Leroy is in... 12:53:20. Nice sub-13 :)And kicker - 13:10:23 Good job!
Thanks! I totally blew up on the run. I was looking for 4:45. Ran 5:17...ugh. There were some seriously competitive age groupers out there. I've never seen such a stacked field.
i did the same. was hoping for a 3:53 and ran a 4:53. cracked at mile 11/12. I think many of us were on our targets through that first lap, then cramp city ;)
job well done!
Found the bike somewhat windy. If I was a year older would have got second. Damn!
Good Job everyone.
Thanks everyone for keeping tracking and posting our splits! It was an incredible day out there. Like kicker, I was hoping for a 4:45 marathon, but blew up on the run also. But that's ok, since it was my first IM and I'm just super happy I finished! Congrats to all the other finishers! Everyone did such a great job.
Thanks for all the help from all the trifuelers with all the questions I've had over the years to prep me for this race. You are all so supportive and helpful, I really couldn't have even done my first half IM without your help, and definitely not the full IM.
Had Internet access until today (since last friday)
Congratulations to all.

Just looked at your times. I seem to remember you out there. You and I were close to each other on both the bike and the run.
What were you wearing? I had on a bright yellow Tri Speed top, and during the run a pink hat and pink skirt.
