Hi there I'm quite new to tri and have not completed my first yet but I have always run and swam. I'm 19 and male. Currently I train about 7-10 hours a week. I was wondering if anyone thinks that the newfoundland HIM on July 27 08 is out of reach considering my inexperiance, but I have no problem with putting in the hours to train for it. Currently I have my eye on an olympic and half marathon in the spring. Opinions would be appreciated good or bad.

POC isn't being flipant. He's just calling it.
The truth is, about tri's, they aren't as hard as everyone makes them out to be, unless you're a pro,or a top 3 age grouper...It's the training that is hard and since you say you have the time and the will...Just do it!
Get a good program, stick to it and it will happen.
I met two folks at IMLP this year where it was their first tri...ever, so having a few races under your belt will help but isn't a necessity.
