I've signed up for the race - never been to Sonoma. I see that the start and finish are in dfferent locations - any thought or recommendations from the Vineman vets or NorCal locals on where to stay?

I prefer to stay near the finish when I do the full -- I think there are a couple hotels within a short distance of it. There is a shuttle between the finish and start, but I don't know if you can take a bike on it or just go get your car. So if you stay by the start, it could mean a shuttle back for the car, a drive back to get the bike at the finish, and a drive back to the start where you are staying.

The start, however, has a bunch of really cute little bed and breakfast places. It's a true tiny river town.

Oh and it's Sonoma County... but not Sonoma ;) Sorry, that correction happens with the town you grew up in.

Do you guys think there's a big risk in waiting a month or two before signing up in terms of it selling out?
