The NYC Olympic Tri just opened and I signed up - I did this one this past season and loved it. In spite of the odd logistics (down river swim, finish away from the transition area), it was well-organized and the crowd was great.

Anyone else thinking or signed up??

I agree, great race, well run and that little extra tinge of morning diesel in the Hudson added flavor to the day.

I'd do it again, but conflict this year. If anyone is thinking about it, sign up quickly. The spots go fast.

I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!

It gets pricier every year but I do like the event. I have done it the last 5 years. I signed up last night for the 2008 event.

If you were one of the first 1000 registrants you get a tech
'in training' shirt too.

I guess that would be pre-race schwag!! :D

glad I signed up last night - regular registration is already sold out, but if anyone is interested, the "Champions Club" registration is still open at $500/person! 2,000 to 3,000 slots filled inside of around 8 hours from midnight to 8am! that's quick!

They also had an early registration for USAT members, that started before regular registration. If you did that you didn't get the free training shirt. I had to wait to get the shirt.

There is no 'B', like a Free 'B'!! :D

I went to sign up this morning at around 8 am and was sad to find that it was already sold out.

Anyone know any tricks to getting in?

To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

You can pony up the $500 or wait and see if they open a few more slots. Good luck!!

Yeah I was going to sign up for that when I got the email from USAT; but man that event is expensive. Looks like fun, sold out in hours.....
