think he's got it? (warning: proud auntie)
the bike (he's in 2nd -- and I'm working on him always being in an approved helmet ):

the run (he currently cheats on skates):

He's even practicing shaving for it!

too great! good reason to be proud, auntie kylie.

I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!
I'm glad you went with solid disc wheels for the bike. It's a big aero advantage and the mark of a serious competitor.
Love the swim cap ;)

Yeah, well, only the best for him! Note that I did spring for the classy white ones, too ;) I did get to pick out the bike for him -- it was his 1st birthday present! Since it had a handle as well he didn't have to pedal it until he was older.
Love the swim cap ;)
Yeah I think that might be one of my favorite pics of him. Although I'm curious how he even comes to *own* a swim cap (owning it makes the wearing of it in a bathtub make sense).
Got it? I think he is ready now.
Good schtuff...gotta love the swim cap :D
Tho looks like he may be drafting on the trike! ;)

Very cool.
My soon to be 3 year old has been doing half mile loops through our development on his trike. He'll be upgrading soon:

He also got a bike in that style for his 1st birthday from another aunt and uncle -- although it is a harley davidson and flames paint job. He might be big enough for it now!

Obviously he lead out of the water... the other guy is just passing him in that pic ;) Otherwise the other guy would be blocking since he's not to the right. My nephew knows pacing... he'll take him in the end!
What a cutie!! Love the skates and the hat!

kylie what a cute post. congratulations.
My big brother (the one who introduced me to this crazy sport) just had a baby of his own... he's 3 months old. And believe it or not his "welcome to the world" present was a tiny little speedo with 2 little fish in the back. Of course I won't have to tell you what present catched my brothers attention above all others ;)
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
He's even practicing shaving for it!
With a TGGW auntie it's the least he could do! :D

He could have saved time in T2 by skipping on the elbow pads. ;) Awesome stuff. Unfortunately, my sister shelters my nephews too much for me to even think about tris.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

at his age that is like skipping the helmet on the bike -- I'm pretty opposed ;)

haha that's an awesome gift! I'll take him to a tri whenever he wants. He was in my cheering squad at my first 2 IMs (at 9 months and then at 2 years old), so I definitely owe him some spectating!!
my almost 3 yr old boy has a cow bell and knows how to yell "go daddy go!"
when he was closer to 2, i cheered him on running in the house [the house has a donut shaped plan]. he did 100 laps and even transitioned to his (four-wheeled) bike for some of the laps when the running legs got tired...he smiled the entire time...and then crashed for a huge nap:D
at first i thought what a great way to tire him out, but then i realized i was training him to have even more endurance and energy!

I just got some updated pics of my nephew (just turned 3 in August). I think he's planning to be a triathlete... think he'll make it?
the swim:

to be continued in a second...
