Sarah Haskins (USA) and Reinaldo Colucci (BRA) crowned Pan Am Games gold medallists in triathlon

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (23 October 2011) - She was silver four years ago at the 2007 Rio Pan Am Games but this year Sarah Haskins stepped up to gold at the 16th Pan American Games in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. With a devastating swim-bike combo with teammate Sara McLarty, Haskins comfortably won by almost a three-minute margin.

"It's just an awesome way to end the season," said Haskins. "I'm just so happy with my season, to be injury-free and just to be out there and feeling good."

Registration opens October 17 at 9 a.m. for the Blackwater Duathlon

Columbia, Md. – TriColumbia, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier endurance event production company, announced today the inaugural Blackwater Duathlon will take place June 3, 2012 in Cambridge, Md. The duathlon will consist of a 10K run, 70K bike and 10K run, and has been chosen as the 2012 USA Triathlon (USAT) National Long Course Duathlon Championship.

The tenth anniversary edition of the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon is set for August 4-5, 2012. It promises to be a special celebration of ten years of a singular athletic challenge across a stunning landscape. Join us!

To mark the anniversary, Norseman will offer two days of competition—Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. Each race is limited to 250 competitors, with Sunday’s field including the elite competition and a special anniversary race for athletes who’ve completed five or more Norseman races.

Newton Running Athlete Craig Alexander Wins Ford Ironman World Championship

10.09.2011– (Boulder, Colo.)–Newton Running professional triathlete Craig “Crowie” Alexander claimed his third victory at the Ford Ironman World Championships in Hawaii on Saturday with a course-record time of 8:03:56, bettering the previous record by 12 seconds. Alexander has been a Newton Running athlete since 2007 and previously won the world championships in 2008 and 2009.

At 38 years old, Alexander is the oldest athlete to ever win the coveted world championship title.
