The Woodlands, TX - Triathlon One O One announced today their exciting plans for a new North American triathlon series featuring an exciting new distance that is taking the multisport world by storm.
The announcement, made at Town Green Park in The Woodlands, site of the 2007 One O One World Championship venue, came with marked excitement from local triathletes attending the announcement.

Triathlon One O One features a 1.86mi (3km) swim, followed by a 80.6mi (130km) bike and finishing with a 18.6mi (30km) run - a total distance of 101.06 miles. The Triathlon One O One series will launch in May in Florida, visiting California in June, Nova Scotia in September and culminating in November with the One O One World Championship in Texas.
The series will expand in 2008 to a total of 20 events worldwide. Each Triathlon One O One event will feature a $50,000 professional prize purse and will be limited to 1500 age group participants. The Woodlands will play host to the One O One World Championship with a $150,000 professional prize purse and an expected field of 2000 age group participants from 40 states and 10 countries.

Plans for The Woodlands course feature a 1.86 mile swim on a very unique course in The Woodlands Waterway that features an opening 1 mile on a loop course before peeling off for the final .86mi in the Waterway Canal that takes participants to the swim exit at Town Green Park. The 80.6 mile bike is an out and back course out along The Woodlands Parkway and into Magnolia. The final 18.6 mile run features a spectator friendly three lap run course that tours The Woodlands Town Center providing participants with beautiful views of The Woodlands Waterway and the pristine neighborhoods surrounding the Town Center.
