Nevada Silverman Triathlon Begins at 6:30am Sunday, November 12th
HENDERSON, Nev. - November 7, 2006 - Frank Lowery, of Lowery's Multisport Races announced today the City of Henderson will host the 2nd annual Nevada Silverman Triathlon on Sunday, November 12, 2006. Featuring a 2.4 mile swim in Lake Mead, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run that boasts a 2,000 foot elevation gain, the Silverman Triathlon is the race that will set triathletes apart from the mainstream. The race will begin promptly at 6:30am on Sunday, November 12, 2006 and launch at Hemmingway Harbor at Lake Mead.
With more than 390 participants expected to participate in the event this year, the race is sure to make history with the Centra $100K Challenge. The Silverman joined forces with a Las Vegas-based developer, Centra to offer a $100,000.00 prize purse to the first combination relay team that can break the 8-hour mark on the Nevada Silverman course.
The Silverman Triathlon is a full-distance triathlon held in Henderson, Nevada.
Branded as the toughest course in North America by "The Man" himself, Dave Scott, and echoed by the 244 finishers from 2005, the Nevada Silverman is sure to attract individuals and relay teams from around the world in 2006.
