HENDERSON, Nev. - January 18, 2007 - Frank Lowery, Race Director of the Nevada Silverman Triathlon announced today the 2007 race will feature a half distance triathlon, in addition to the full distance triathlon already offered. The half tri will consist of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.

"After numerous requests from potential participants, we have decided to add a half distance triathlon to the race in 2007," said Lowery. "We feel that the addition will make the race much more attractive to amateurs in the triathlon world. This opens doors to anyone seeking a challenge."

The race will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2007 and launch at Hemmingway Harbor at Lake Mead. With approximately 400 participants in the full distance tri at the 2006 race, 2007 is sure to attract thousands.
