HENDERSON, Nev. - October 9, 2006 - Frank Lowery, of Lowery's Multisport Races along with the City of Henderson , announced today that the individual athletes in the Nevada Silverman Triathlon will be competing for more than $40,000.00 in prizes at the 2006 race. These athletes endure an astounding amount of training both mentally and physically. They are working for one goal which takes training to a level most could not tolerate.
To date, there are 230 individuals and 30 relay teams registered for the race. Individual athletes will be battling for fabulous prizes and bragging rights. With more than $40,000 in prizes and product, they are sure to fight for the top spots in their age groups. These determined athletes will take pride in saying that they have completed the world's toughest triathlon, while sharing the pavement with Dave Scott - who will once again challenge the difficult terrain.
Some of the prizes will include round trip airline tickets, vacation packages at the Belliagio Hotel and Casino, products from 2XU, Fuel Belt, Recovery Ease, Hammer Nutrition, Ruth Chris Steakhouse, TYR and Swim 2000, Profile, Rav X, Village Runner, Keen Footwear and New Balance, among many others.
The Nevada Silverman Triathlon will initiate in-competition drug testing at the 2006 Event. All participants will be subject to testing which will be conducted in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agencies International Standards for Doping Control. The specific details of the testing program will be announced to all participants prior to the event.

Branded as the toughest course in North America by "The Man" himself, Dave Scott, and echoed by the 244 finishers from 2005, the Nevada Silverman is sure to attract individuals and relay teams from around the world in 2006.
