The new Auburn International Duathlon will consist of a 5k Run (3.1 miles) - 90k Bike (56 miles) - 10k Run (6.2 miles), held in conjunction with the World's Toughest Half and Auburn International Triathlon events on Sunday, May 20, 2007. The event will serve as a qualifier for the ITU World Long Distance Duathlon Championships in Richmond, VA on October 21, 2007 - the only west coast qualifier for Team USA. The top three finishers in each age division will be awarded spots on Team USA. Duathletes will complete the same courses as the triathletes after their warmup run at Folsom Lake. The fifth annual World's Toughest Half has been lauded as the most scenic and challenging course anywhere: safe, quiet roads take cyclists into the Sierra foothills and the run, held entirely within the Auburn State Park with no autos, offers stunning river canyon views around every corner. The race offers a grass-roots, athlete-focused feel and a supreme challenge for the adventurous athlete. For complete course details and registration information, please visit www.auburntriathlon.com
