LifeSport Coaching Welcomes Linsey (Pickell) Corbin to its Elite Team
Source: Editor // filed: September 20 2006

LifeSport Coaching is happy to welcome first year pro Linsey (Pickell) Corbin to the LifeSport elite team. The recently married Corbin raced under her maiden name Pickell thus far in 2006.

Corbin raced Wildflower this year in the age group category. Her time was fast enough to place her 3rd overall in the Professional ranks, and her 2:36:47 bike split Pickell was faster than eventual winner Samantha McGlone, and less than 1 minute behind the legendary Natasha Badmann (2nd place finisher).

Corbin also won Joe Dixon's Oliver 1/2 Ironman in June with a dominant bike split and 4th fastest (overall men and women) 1:25:50 half marathon, to clock a World Class 4:30:57 finishing time on the challenging course.

Says coach Lance Watson, "Linsey is an exceptionally talented triathlete who is only just beginning to show what she is capable of. At age 25, she has a lot of upside at the Ironman Distance."

"Lance Watson came to me highly recommended. LifeSport seemed like a perfect fit to bring my training and racing to the next level. I am looking forward to working with someone with such extensive knowledge about fitness, triathlons, training and racing," says Corbin.

Corbin's initial challenge will be to overcome a broken collarbone suffered recently when an SUV ran through a stop sign and knocked her off her bike.

"Linsey is tough. This has jeopardized her chances in Kona, for sure - swimming will be a major challenge. Seeing how she is tackling this setback shows me she has the guts and determination to be successful in the long term".
