"I was really disappointed when the virus I contracted in early 2011 prevented me from racing The EagleMan 70.3,” said Alexander. “I have heard so many good things about that race and its organizers over the years that the event has been growing larger and larger on my radar. I'm eager to line up in Cambridge in 2012."
Participants will compete to qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii (30 slots) on October 13, 2012 and the Ironman 70.3 Championship in Lake Las Vegas (30 slots) on September 9, 2012. In addition, professionals will compete for a $50,000 prize purse. Last year, pros T.J. Tollakson (3:54:39) and 2010 Ironman World Champion Mirinda Carfrae (4:15:31) took home first place honors overall.
