USPro Tri Team Update: September Race Report!
Well the weather may be changing but we’re still cranking out solid performances! Might as well get in as many races as possible before the tri season winds down.
The first big weeked of September was definitely a nice divide and conquer effort.........Dereck Treadwell was 2nd pro at the Toughman half ironman in NY, Mike Caiazzo was 3rd pro at the Pumpkinman half ironman in ME, Nick Waninger was 1st overall at the Trail of Tears sprint tri in MO, Dave Kuendig was 3rd overall at the Tri for Sight sprint tri in KY, and Chris Tremonte was 7th pro at the Pacific Grove olympic distance tri in CA !
The last weekend of September we had three guys racing the new Augusta 70.3 in GA. Nick had an excellent race at Augusta by staying near the front on the short swim, a strong bike, and finishing with a blazing 1:16 run. Mike has been battling a running injury but stayed strong to finish 14th in this big pro field. Dave Kuendig had a strong swim and solid run to place 20th pro.
We also had two guys racing the Westchester Tri in NY. John Kenny finished an excellent 4th overall, and David Silver finished 8th pro on this tough course.
Mike also nabbed a win for us in the Maine Sport Tri, Chris was 4th at the Kirkland Tri in WA, and Dave won the Knoxville Sprint Tri in TN.
We still have guys doing quite a few big races through November, and are already hard at work planning for a fantastic 2010!
