epicRIDES DVDs Offer Something New for Indoor Cycle Training

by epicplanet on July 28, 2009

epicRIDES virtual ride cycling videos are not your typical bicycle training video and that’s no accident. This new DVD series from producer epicPLANET.tv is intended to offer cyclists training indoors the ability to ride and train on epic bicycle routes around the world without leaving their home studio. “Imagine it - one day you train in Acadia National Park in Maine, a couple of days later, climb Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona, then a couple of days later ride the Rouge Roubaix route in St. Francisville, Louisiana - not even Lance gets around that much!” says epicPLANET.tv Producer/Director, Allen Jones.

“epicRIDES are intended to complement - not replace “hard core” bicycle training DVDs with on-screen trainers running drills. With epicRIDES we want to give the cyclist training indoors an option to break from the routine and enjoy a challenging virtual ride in some of the best cycling locations around the world.” Jones adds, “With our multiple camera angles and amazing, immersive cinematography we believe our DVDs provide a virtual riding experience that comes closest to capturing the essence of what brings millions to bicycling - beautiful scenery, challenging terrain, and escape from the harried, hard charging go-go world we to live in!”

epicRIDES virtual ride videos are filmed on epic cycle routes in scenic locations around the world, using local cyclists as riders. epicRIDES are edited to an original music score and include an on-screen digital dashboard showing terrain profile, ride time, average grade, and suggested training zone. The video’s interface is clean, simple and elegant, so as to not detract from the beautiful scenery in the rides.

epicRIDES virtual ride videos are for use in indoor cycle training at home, for indoor cycling classes, and for major indoor cycling events. All epicRIDES come with downloadable Training Guide with several different workouts that tie in with the video’s Digital Dashboard. These videos are shot in the wide-screen 16:9 aspect ratio which makes them perfect for wide-screen high definition TV sets.

epicRIDES DVDs ares for sale on the epicplanet.tv web site, at Amazon.com and through a number of national and local bicycle retailers for a suggested retail price of $29.95. For those that “get hooked” on the epicRIDES experience (and like to save money as well), epicPLANET.tv will be offering a subscription option that will save subscribers almost 30% off of the retail price as well as put a new epicRIDES video in their mailbox five times a year
.
