Endurance Nation: Tour of California Camp 2009
Come join the Endurance Nation team for a week-long cycling experience of a lifetime. This is our third consecutive year at the Tour of California, and it's shaping up to be our best epic cycling camp yet! In addition to having Lance in the Tour this year (admittedly outside of our control), we have a killer itinerary designed to maximize your time in the saddle on some of the most beautiful roads in the US.
In 2008, our group of 20 triathletes and roadies were in the saddle 23+ hours, over 350 miles, through incredible terrain, over more categorized climbs than we could count, all with the pro peleton snapping at our heels. You can learn more about the 2008 camp here.
What makes this camp experience so unique? The race organizers have chosen some of the best, most challenging, and most scenic roads for us. They’ve marked the course for us, given us maps, profiles, etc. They put spectators out on the course to cheer us on. They’ve arrange for festivals at the start and finish lines. They’ve arranged for the best cyclists in the world to put on a show for you, blasting up the same hill that you just struggled to climb! In short, this is a rolling week-long training camp with a surrounding vibe you could never duplicate on your own.
At Endurance Nation (www.endurancenation.us) we believe your fitness is a vehicle for doing cool stuff. We feel it's a shame that athletes spend months and months building their fitness, just to "enjoy" it during a one-day event. We encourage our athletes to think outside of the box of racing and training. We push them to think of cool things to do with their fitness, get others to do it with them, and call it training. Our California, Lake Placid, and Utah training tours are the perfect opportunity to break through your endurance limitations, or reward yourself for all of your hard work by participating in epic training in incredible terrain with great folks.
Registration for the 2009 Training Tour is officially open, with only 8 of 16 slots remaining. Interested athletes should visit the Endurance Nation website (www.endurancenation.us) to begin the registration process.
