9-Time Ironman Champion Chris McCormack, Registers for the 2007 Nevada Silverman Triathlon

( Henderson , Nev. ) October 03, 2007 – The Nevada Silverman Triathlon is excited to announce that Chris McCormack, “Macca,” confirmed today that he will race in the 2007 Nevada Silverman Triathlon. The Nevada Silverman is a full-distance triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim; 112-mile bike and 26.2 mile run held annually in Henderson , Nevada . After negotiations with the Silverman team and assessment of schedules and racing commitments Macca will race the half – tri on the weekend of November 11, 2007.

“We are thrilled with the signing of Macca - who is currently the hottest name in the sport of Triathlon. We look forward to the excitement he will inevitably bring to the race,” said Silverman Race Director, Frank Lowery.
Australian Chris McCormack or Macca as he is affectionately known, is one of the most affable athletes in the sport of triathlon. Chris entered the professional triathlon circuit in 1996, as an inexperienced rookie, but rapidly rose to success only eight months after his debut, taking the World No. 1 position and destroying arguably the greatest field ever assembled in triathlon history, to win both the 1997 Triathlon World Championships and the 1997 ITU World Cup Series.

With a huge heart, the biggest smile in triathlon and an ever-blossoming fan club, McCormack has stamped himself as one of the fiercest forces in triathlon.
