Inaugural Triathlon One O One Bradenton Set for This Sunday
Triathlon One O One Bradenton - Quick Facts
Who: More than 150 athletes, from ages 20 to 61, compete from 10 countries and 22 states.
What: A 101.06-mile triathlon, comprised of a 1.86-mile (3 km) swim, followed by an 80.6-mile (130 km) bike and ending with an 18.6-mile (30 km) run. Competitors have 12 hours to finish the race.
When: Sunday, May 6, 2007, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Where: Bradenton, FL. The two-lap swim takes place in the Manatee River behind the Holiday Inn Riverfront. The bike segment consists of a fast six-loop course which travels through downtown Bradenton and Manatee County. The run segment features a spectator-friendly, three-lap course, with views of the Manatee River and downtown Bradenton.

Professional Field: There will be a professional field of 40 athletes – 17 women and 23 men.

Professional Prize Purse: $50,000 (USD). Prize money will be paid equally to the top 7 male and female professionals as follows: 1st Place - $10,000; 2nd Place - $6,000; 3rd Place - $4,000; 4th Place - $2,000; 5th Place - $1,500; 6th Place - $1,000; and 7th Place - $500.
