Triathlon One O One Announces Prize Purse Breakout for ’07 Series
The organizers of the Triathlon One O One series announced today the distribution for the $300,000 in professional prize money being awarded at its 2007 events.
A $50,000 prize purse will be offered at each of the following events: Triathlon One O One Bradenton being held on May 6 in Bradenton, FL; Triathlon One O One Clear Lake being held on June 10 in Clear Lake, CA and Triathlon One O One Halifax being held on Sept. 2 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Prize money at all three events will be paid equally to the top seven overall male and female professionals as follows:
1st Place - $10,000
2nd Place - $6,000
3rd Place - $4,000
4th Place - $2,000
5th Place - $1,500
6th Place - $1,000
7th Place - $500
The Triathlon One O One Championship, which will be held on Nov. 11 in The Woodlands, TX, will feature a $150,000 prize purse. Prize money at this event will also be split equally among the top seven overall male and female professionals as follows:
1st Place - $30,000
2nd Place - $18,000
3rd Place - $12,000
4th Place - $6,000
5th Place - $4,500
6th Place - $3,000
7th Place - $1,500
All monies will be paid in U.S. dollars.

The Triathlon One O One series launches on May 6 in Bradenton, Fla., with additional qualifying races in Clear Lake, CA on June 10, Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sept. 2 and culminating with the championship in The Woodlands, TX on Nov. 11. The 101.06-mile events, comprised of a 1.86mi (3km) swim, followed by an 80.6mi (130km) bike and an 18.6mi (30km) run, will feature both age group and professional athletes. Each qualifying event will offer a $50,000 professional prize purse and the championship a $150,000 professional prize purse.
