“The effectiveness of Trigger Point’s products combined with their education and training of USAT’s national team athletes will mean fewer training days lost to injury and better race day performances,” said USAT Sport Performance Director Scott Schnitzspahn. “It’s exciting to have them on board.”

“Trigger Point Technologies is very excited about our partnership with USA Triathlon,” said Trigger Point CEO and founder Cassidy Phillips. “Leading up to the 2004 Olympics, we worked with triathletes from foreign countries to get them ready for the games. Now is our chance to work with the best, putting together a program with the elite coaches and the USAT certified coaches to push the Americans to the top. These programs are going to allow all levels of USAT triathletes to benefit from our products and education.”

About Trigger Point Technologies
Cassidy Phillips created Trigger Point tools for his own chronic pain stemming from fibromyalgia. Unwilling to accept this pain, the tools allowed him to perform the necessary bodywork on himself and have since provided hope for his and thousands of others’ unanswerable injuries and chronic pain.

Trigger Point’s patented TP Massage Ball and other products are made of firm yet pliable materials – to mimic the feeling of a human hand and the effects of a deep tissue massage. TPT products are designed to penetrate the belly of the muscle hands-free without being invasive or traumatic to the muscle tissue. This results in increased blood flow and oxygen to the area, which subsequently increases the elasticity of the muscle.

To aid in product use, Trigger Point products are supported by a comprehensive website featuring a virtual therapist, educational DVDs, and sport-specific guidebooks. Using Trigger Point’s proprietary methodologies, the net effect athletes is improved biomechanics, decreased propensity for injury, enhanced flexibility and aerodynamics, and better overall performance.

Today, TPT sponsors Ironman North America events, the Timex Multisport Team, and supports many professional and amateur athletes around the world, including triathletes Cameron Brown, Chris Lieto, Barb Lindquist, Kate Major, and Simon Whitfield. Additionally, Trigger Point recently structured relationships with the T-Mobile Pro Cycling team to use TPT products in preparation for the Tour De France, and with Dr. Michael Leahy, the founder and creator of Active Release Techniques (ART).
